Back at it! I went back to work and the kids back to daycare. Reese had a great day, but Isaac is struggling to get on daycare schedule. I am sure he will settle into it.
Isaac is doing a great job of standing against different things. He is not so sure about taking steps, but I am sure that will come soon enough! He is still scooting all around and getting to everything that he wants. Isaac is also exploring different food options. He has tried a variety of fruits, cheeses, and cereals.
Reese is now sleeping in her "big bed." It helped that at daycare, she was sleeping on a cot.
I will have to continue this later - it is supper time for Isaac!Comments:Add a comment:

Ahhhhh....Christmas break! We are already loving it! This past weekend, we celebrated Christmas with the Axness'. We were able to enjoy a wonderful meal. Then we opened presents. The kids had a blast. This was the first time where Reese really got into it, so it was fun to see her reaction. She loved all the Mickey Mouse things and she especially loved the kitchen set she got from Grandpa and Grandma Axness. Isaac thought it was fun to play with the paper and crawl over the presents.
On Sunday, we were able to go to the Vikings game, while Grandma Axness babysat the kids. When we got back from the game, Auntie Ang and Uncle Jason were here. This morning, Ang and Jason left for Crookston and took Reese with them. It has been pretty quiet around our house tonight, but Isaac has been keeping us busy.
Reese has loved the holiday season. She loves to sing Frosty the Snowman. She really had fun helping me bake different goodies. She actually loved washing the dishes best. Reese also enjoyed helping me with wrapping presents. She was my little assistant and would place the tape in just the right place.
Isaac keeps making strides in his development. He is loves to stand up. He has stood up in his crib a few times as well as by the couch and activity tables. He not only stands by the activity table, but actaully pulls himself up on it and body surfs.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. The first week in December, we had a bug going around our house. The kids had runny noses and all that fun stuff. I also caught something, but we have all made a full recovery.
This past week, Brian has been in San Diego for work. We are all excied to see him tonight. The week went pretty smoothly, but it was a lot of work.
Reesey was my "Big Helper." She helped me empty the dish washer, helped with the garbage, and kept Isaac out of trouble (Ha)!
Isaac has learned to clap. He lights up everytime he does it. He has been a lot more vocal these past few days. It is fun to hear him babble. Isaac has finally discovered the Christmas tree. He loves to pull off the needles and eat them.Comments:Marilyn: Hi Axness family. Good boy Isaac for getting into the tree. And Reese good girl for helping Mom when Daddy is gone. We are stormed in here today and I love it. I've got most of my baking done and just started decorating last night so I'm a little behind. Reese and Isaac, if you ever find any gifts under the tree and even if they're not yours go ahead and open them. Your mommy won't mind. Merry Christmas. Auntie MarilynAdd a comment:

Isaac had his 9 month appointment last week. He weighed 22 pounds and was 29 inches long. I compared him to Reese at that age - she was 24 pounds and 27 inches. Everything checked out just fine, so that is always good!
We had an eventful Thanksgiving. We were lucky enough to host both families, just like last year. Reese followed cousin Jacob around like a little puppy dog, doing everything that he did. Isaac and Andrew had fun hanging out on the floor, playing with toys. It was fun to see them interact. After the kiddies were put to bed, we started our "Black Friday" shopping at Albertville.
I always say this, but Reese is talking a mile a minute. It is nice to actually know what she wants as well as have an actual conversation with her. Last night Brian and I were talking and he said something to the affect of he was worried about something. She replies with "Daddy, don't worry," and runs over to him and gives him a big hug. It was really very cute.

A couple of new things for Isaac: he is crawling and eating finger foods. Isaac is able to get where he needs to go. He uses he forearms and kind of does the army crawl. Isaac is also exploring a whole new world of food. He loves the Gerber Puffs and graham crackers. He has also tried mashed potatoes, cooked carrots and peas. Isaac loves to play with different toys, but his favorite thing, still, is to be held.
Reese is little Miss Boss Isaac. She loves to tell Isaac "No No Isaac," and show him what he can and cannot play with. She has gotten to be a much better sharer, which makes me happy. She loves to use her manners - thank you, please, and your welcome. My favorite is when she tells me "No," and I tell her that she does not say no to Mommy. She will respond with a "No, please." Some of Reese's favorite activities these days are doing puzzles, coloring, dancing, playing with blocks, brushing her teeth, washing her hands, watching Finding Nemo, and playing with the Nativity set. We talk about Baby Jesus and how his birthday is coming up. She constantly reminds me that we are going to celebrate. She also is very excited for Grandma Axness and Papa's birthday. She loves to celebrate!
Brian is working in Dallas for a few days, so it is just the 3 of us. We will be happy when he gets home!Comments:Auntie Ang: Congrats Isaac!Add a comment:

Hello! It has been a busy October. Over MEA break, my parents, Isaac, Reese, and I went to Davenport to visit Auntie Ang and Uncle Jason. We had good travel - the kids did great! We had a good time going to the park and hanging out at their beautiful house!
Last weekend, we headed to the west to Brookings, South Dakota to visit the Axness'. It was our first time at Grandma and Grandpa Axness' new house. They showed us a good time by bringing us to the BOO ZOO and a visit to Chuck E. Cheese. Reese had fun playing with cousin Jacob and Isaac loved all the attention from everyone!
We are so very excited for Halloween! Reese loves wearing her bee costume and Isaac loves to snuggle into his puppy outfit. Reese loves to scare people by saying "BOO!" and loves to say "Trick or Treat!" On Saturday, we are sooo excited for the Annual Halloween Party and Thielke's. It is always so much fun to dress up and get together with friends!
Auntie Steph, Uncle Ryan, and cousin Andy stayed a couple nights with us when they were on their way to and from Davenport. It was so much fun to have them here. Reesey was so excited to see Andy and loved his puffy hair. Isaac and Andy kind of just looked at each other and touched each others face. It was cute.
Isaac is sitting up with no assistance now. He has been doing this for a few weeks. It is a whole new world for him! He is getting really close going from onhis back to sitting up, but can't quite get there. He has also showing signs of crawling....he has gotten up on his knees a few times, but then doesn't know what to do. He loves to watch Reese play and it so cute to see them actually "play" together. Isaac still loves to be held and also loves to do patty-cake. He has moved into his big carseat. He is constantly changing - I can not believe he is 8 MONTHS!!!! Time has gone by so fast!
Reese seems to have improved her behavior, but she still has her little set-backs. She is so much nicer to Isaac. She gives him toys to play with and finds his blanket for him, and then she will steal the nuk right out of his mouth. She will pick up her toys, but then she will throw one. After, she will say "Sorry, Mama." She knows that it is wrong, but for some reason, just can't help herself. BUT things have gotten a whole lot better. She loves Ariel from Little Mermaid and Nemo and Dori from Finding Nemo. She is also interested in the new movie about Tinker Bell, but she is only seen the previews. Right now, her drink of choice is apple juice. She is on-the-go and keeps us on our toes!Comments:Add a comment:

Today, we decided to go to Disney's Mickey Mouse Playhouse, Clubhouse performance at the Xcel Center. Reese and Isaac both loved it. Reesey could not stop giggling when she first saw Mickey on stage. All of her favorites were there - Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Tigger, and Pooh.

We have officially hit cold season. Brian was hit with it last week and now the both kids and I have runny nose coughs, and sore throats. YUCK! Let the fun begin!
Last weekend, we went to the Apple Jacks Apple Orchard in Deleno. It was a gorgeous day and Reese liked to pick the apples. She walked most of the time. I think she got a little tired at the end because Brian asked Reese if she wanted to race and she said, "Walk." Her vocabulary has exploded! She repeats everything. Her favorite thing to do right after she get up in the morning and right before she goes to bed is to watch about 1/2 hour of Nemo, The Incredibles, or The Bee Movie. It is a great way to get her to wind down after a busy day. Reese also loves to help Isaac throughout the day. She will bring him toys, a bottle, or his blanket. She is a very proud big sister.
Isaac is doing what any normal 7 month old does - rolls around on the ground, sucks on everything, loves peek-a-boo. He is doing much better at sitting up. He is still a little shaky, but he is getting better at balancing. He is able to recognize familiar faces. He still hates to be left alone, even if it only for a few seconds.
One of the funniest things that Reese does is she tries really hard to get Isaac to smile. She will tap him on the shoulder and say "Ida, Ida..." Then she gets right in his face with very cheesey smile until he starts giggling. It always seems to work. Funny.
Nana and Papa Lindsay came to the cities on Saturday. It was fun to have them here. We transitioned the summer clothes out and the fall clothes in.Comments:Steph: This weekend, I put all of Andrew's summer clothes away, too. Wasn't it a little sad to pack up some of your favorite outfits of Issac's knowing he will outgrow them? Andrew has a cold, too! We have been doing lots of snuggling, so I suppose I am next to be hit. I hope you all feel better soon.Add a comment:

On Isaac's 7 month birthday (yesterday), he got his first tooth! He has been a little fussy and really really loose diapers, but he seems to be better today.

We had Reese's birthday party this weekend. Lots of friends and family were here to help her celebrate. We had a lot of fun. I will post more pictures. I did put up a couple. Reese had a lot of fun opening her presents - she got so many fun new toys and cute clothes. She really loved her Dairy Queen cake (requested by her father). Saturday night we went over to the hotel where some of my family were staying. The kids got to go swimming. Reese really loves the water, but wraps her arms around who is ever holding her and won't let go. We kept the party going by ordering pizza - Reese's favorite. After the pizza, the kids went and played in the biggest maze/climbing area that I have seen. Reese loves to climb. She had so much fun going up and down and up and down while yelling out people's names from the very top. Her vocab keeps increasing and better yet, is getting clearer! I love the interaction and it is so fun to watch her learn. When we got home, everyone was tuckered out from all the activities. Reese and Isaac both slept in until 8AM - WHAT A TREAT!!!!
Isaac had his 6 month appointment. He is almost 20 pounds and 28 inches. He will be moving out of his carseat within the next couple weeks because the max wieght is 22 lbs and 29 inches. He had his shots. All he did was whimper a little and then he was fine. Isaac is getting really getting close to sitting up. He is rolling like a mad-man and sucking on everything he can get his little fingers on. He loves his big sister. He is always smiling at her and watching her every move. THey are starting to interact more and more.
Comments:Michelle: Sounds like life is busy and full of love and happiness for the four of you! I can't believe how big the kids are getting and how cute they are! Tell Brain hello take care and keep in touch!Auntie Steph: Way to go on the shots I-Man! You are such a tough guy! Great to see you guys this weekend even if it was a short visit.Add a comment:
