I love 3 day weekends, but hate when they are over! We did do a little traveling to South Dakota. Reese and Isaac''s Great Grandpa Axness turned 90 years old. We got to see all of Brian''s cousins as well as aunts and uncles. It was fun to see the Axness family.
Isaac is now 3 months (I will get the Watch Me Grow picture up - it has been taking a really long time to upload pictures). He has become quite the smiley guy. He loves to lay under his mobile and watch the animals twirl around. He loves to listen to music and lay on his changing table. Isaac can see much further now and I think he can recognize our faces and voices. He will give a big smile when he sees or hears us.
Reese is still up to her old tricks. She still loves to be outside and getting her in can be difficult. She is getting better, but the worst is going from the house to the car. She thinks that we are going outside to play. Today Brian tried to get her in her carseat. He struggled for quite a few minutes before he called in for help. She arches her back and fights hard to stay out. Once she gets in, she is fine. Same things with baths - she does not want to get in and will strach and claw to get away. Once she''s in - it''s fine. Uff - could we be hitting the terrible two''s? It''s really not that bad - it is just frustrating because it never used to be a problem.
We continue to work on Reese''s vocab. She really does love to talk. Her newest thing is to actually talk on the phone. If she is in the same room when I am talking on the phone, you may be lucky enough to hear a little song sung by Little Miss Reese. Her favorite tune is "G-Y-G" also known as ABC. One new word that she says is "Denny." He is our neighbor across the street. When we go outside or look outside her window to the Hill''s house. She will say "Denny! Denny!" It is very cute and I think he likes it too!
Meredith is with us for one more week. We are so fortunate to have her with us. She is doing a great job with Isaac.
May is flying by! We had a very busy weekend. We left the cities on Friday night and headed to Fargo. I was running the Fargo half marathon for the 2nd year in a row. Saturday morning was perfect for running and it was another awesome experience. My sister, Ang, and friend, Gwen, also ran. It was fun to see some old college friends as well as people on the side lines cheering us on. Reese, Isaac, Brian, my mom, sister Steph, Jason, and Justin were at mile one and mile 12. What a pick-me-up that was! I needed to see some familiar faces. I also saw my great aunt and uncle Carol and Albin and a few Crookston fans!
On Sunday, we had cousin Andrew''s baptism. He was a good little boy. It was fun to be with the family all weekend.
We had a fabulous weekend with both of our families. Isaac was baptized this morning at Prince of Peace Church. We decided that we were going to keep Reese in the church pew with one of the relatives. Brian, Isaac, Steph & Ryan, Julie and myself went up to the front. During the baptism, we keep hearing "Mama, Mama, Mama..." So even though we decided to leave Reese in the pew, she had a different idea. Half way through, she joined us. She did not want to miss out on any of the action. After church, we went to the one and only Old Country Buffet. We are so happy to have Steph and Ryan, and Julie as Isaac''s Godparents.
I now really understand the phrase "early bird." We have a bunch of birds that sit outside our house and wake up Reese at 5:30am. For the past 5 or 6 days, Reese has been waking up so early! UGGGHHH!!! My new favorite saying - "This, too, shall pass!"
My cousin, Meredith, arrived yesterday. She is the newest member of our household for the next month. She will be watching Isaac while I am finishing up the school year. We know that he will be in great hands. Reese also thinks that she found her new best friend. She drags Meredith around the house or yard by finger showing her who knows what. Thank goodness Meredith is a good sport!
