We had Reese''s birthday party this weekend. Lots of friends and family were here to help her celebrate. We had a lot of fun. I will post more pictures. I did put up a couple. Reese had a lot of fun opening her presents - she got so many fun new toys and cute clothes. She really loved her Dairy Queen cake (requested by her father). Saturday night we went over to the hotel where some of my family were staying. The kids got to go swimming. Reese really loves the water, but wraps her arms around who is ever holding her and won''t let go. We kept the party going by ordering pizza - Reese''s favorite. After the pizza, the kids went and played in the biggest maze/climbing area that I have seen. Reese loves to climb. She had so much fun going up and down and up and down while yelling out people''s names from the very top. Her vocab keeps increasing and better yet, is getting clearer! I love the interaction and it is so fun to watch her learn. When we got home, everyone was tuckered out from all the activities. Reese and Isaac both slept in until 8AM - WHAT A TREAT!!!!
Isaac had his 6 month appointment. He is almost 20 pounds and 28 inches. He will be moving out of his carseat within the next couple weeks because the max wieght is 22 lbs and 29 inches. He had his shots. All he did was whimper a little and then he was fine. Isaac is getting really getting close to sitting up. He is rolling like a mad-man and sucking on everything he can get his little fingers on. He loves his big sister. He is always smiling at her and watching her every move. THey are starting to interact more and more.
Happy Birthday to our sweet little Reese! I can not believe she is 2. This morning, when she woke up, I told her "Happy Birthday!" She responded with "cake...cookies." I took a few pictures of her this morning, but did not get a chance to post them. She insisted on including her brother in most of them. I will post them later today.
Lots of change around the Axness household. Change #1:
Reese and Isaac are now officially at daycare. They started on Monday. Reese has had no problem adjusting except for sharing toys. She has a tendancy to take what she wants - I guess you could look at it as her being very determined, but sharing is something that we really need to work on! Isaac has also adjusted well. He is strictly on formula now (another change) along with rice cereal and other baby food. He had a little trouble taking the bottle from Cathy, but now that seems to be going fine. He loves to watch all the kids play and loves to be read to.
Brian and I are both have schedule changes. I am obviously back to work. It was really hard to get back into the swing of things. I really really enjoyed being at home with the kids this summer where we were on no particular schedule and then BAM! Back to the busy world of working. I know it will be fine once we get going, and I am so thankful that I am a teacher so I can have my summers home with Reese and Isaac. Brian has also changed jobs - he is back with his old accounting - LBL Co. working in the litigation department. It is wierd how things work out! He just started last week, so there has been a lot of adjustments for our whole family!
I have been talking about it for awhile and he really has not been consistant, but Isaac is officially sleeping through the night. He usually goes about 9 to 10 hours a night. What a great feeling to have a good night sleep.
It is not quite here yet, but we almost have a 2 year old! Reese loves to talk about her birthday. She will tell you that she is going to be "2". When I ask her what she wants on her birthday, she says "cake and cookies." She also loves to sing Happy Birthday or even better she loves when we sing the song to her! The grin on her face is of complete joy!
