Isaac has turned 4 months old. He had his check-up last week and everything looked great. He weighed 18 lbs and is 26 inches long. That puts him at the top of the charts for both height and weight. Isaac also got some shots. That, as usual, was not fun. Dr. Colson gave him the go-ahead to start rice cereal, so we will have to get him started on that. He is becoming more active - he loves to sit in his bumbo chair and stand in his exersaucer. He is still a fan of laying under his mobile. And of course, his sister keeps him entertained all day. Isaac has a couple of favorites already. He has a favorite blanket - it a fuzzy cream one. It is not your traditional baby blanket, but he loves the feel of it and loves to roll around on it. He also has a favorite stuffed animal. It is a blue, elephant taggie, with a little rattle in the middle. Whenever he sees it, his eyes brighten and it usually brings a smile to his face.
Reese is doing well (as long as she can be outside). She loves the outdoors. She loves to go to the park, on stroller rides, or spend time in the pool. She also loves to hang out around the house and mingle with the neighbors. Her favorite neighbor is Denny, who lives across teh street. Every morning, when she is on the changing table, she looks out the window, and looks for Denny. She opens the window and shouts to him. I am glad he is a good sport and always waves back. Everytime we drive by a park she says "Weeee!" (that is what she call the park - because when she swings or goes down the slide, she says "Weee!."
Reese has become quite the little singer. When we are driving or she is stitting in the swing, she will start singing in her sweet little voice. Every once in awhile, she will add hand motions. Her vocabulary has also started to take off. She is starting to say the ABC's and 123's. She will repeat them after you, and can say ABCDE without any assistants.
Reese has also started to have a mind of her own. She is a typical 1 1/2 year old, where there are so many fun and exciting things - but with that, comes a challenging situation here and there. Sometimes, she does not understand that we can not go outside at 6am in the morning or when it raining out. Also, we are learning what we can and cannot throw.
We have had lots of company the past couple of months. This weekend, the Axness' were here. Reese and Jacob had a good time playing in the backyard, while Isaac took a little snooze. Reese got a little ouchy on her finger which drew blood. She was very dramatic about the whole thing, so we walked to Walgreen's and got some Dora band aids. Dora did the trick! She was so excited to have Dora on her finger.Comments:Add a comment:

It has been awhile since I have written. We have had lots of company this month including grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. Since summer has started and weather is finally nice, we have made many trips to various parks, to the pool and we even ventured down to the Minnesota Zoo.
I will have to continue this later - Isaac is now up and Reese is begging to go outside.Comments:Steph: I bet it is a lot busier this summer with TWO kids! I like the updates though -- even if they are short.Add a comment:

Summer is here!!! I am so excited to spend the summer at home with the 2 little kiddies. It is going to be so much fun going to the parks, the pool or lake, on walks, and just hanging out with friends.
This week, Reese is with Grandma and Grandpa Lindsay. I am working at a volleyball camp, so it is just Isaac, Daddy, and I. It is soooooo quiet around our house. Brian keeps saying - this is so easy with just one kid who doesn't move, BUT it is not as fun! We miss her, but get daily updates on how she is doing. She has already been on a number of bike rides and been up to visit Grandpa at the hospital.
This past weekend, Grandpa and Grandma Axness, Aunt Julie, and cousin Jacob came to visit. We did a lot of playing outside, went to the park, and made a trip to Chuck E. Cheese.
Isaac is getting so big! I can't believe how much he is growing. He is also very active. It seems like he is always kicking his feet. His head is getting stronger - when he is on his belly, he is able to lift it up and see what is out in front of him. He is also talking a lot more, which is fun to hear.Comments:Add a comment:

Isaac reached a couple milestones today. Earlier this afternoon, Reese was playing with Isaac and he giggled. Of course, she thought that was so funny! Tonight, he let out a couple other squeals when Grandma Lindsay was talking with him. It is very cute!
Secondly, Isaac ROLLED OVER at 3 1/2 months!!!! When he is on his tummy, he has no problem. He did it many times. He can almost do it from back to tummy...but not quite. Reese was trying to assist him with a push. She should be one to talk - I don't think she could roll over until she was 6 months old.
Reese is quite the little talker. She is starting to say her ABC's. She used to repeat the letters after me, but now I will start with "A" and then Reese will say "B"...I will say "C" and then she will say "D." That is as far as she gets, but it's a good start! Reese, also, loves to sing. She loves to sing her version of ABC, itsy bisty spider, row row row your boat, and many more! Some other things she likes to do is run. Just run. She loves to run up and down the yard and it is relly fun when someone is chasing her! She loves to dance! I think she gets her dance moves from her father. Reese also loves to look and her books and she will also read them to you if your lucky! She is growing up way too fast. :(Comments:Stephanie: So fun! Way to go Isaac! He is changing so much! The smiling pictures are soooo cute. I can't wait to see Reesey on Saturday when she comes with Grandma Lindsay!Add a comment:
